When I was 7 years old, I attended my first funeral. The family friend who drove me to daycare died suddenly.
Since it was my first funeral
I was fascinated by the entire process: gathering people for the funeral, the funeral itself, and the burial.
I feel incredibly honored to work in an industry where I can meaningfully help others during some of the most difficult times in their lives. It is my great passion to help people and I believe that we (funeral directors), who are truly called to do this, have been equipped by God with a special anointing and gift to serve and support families who have suffered a loss.

I was 6 years old when I attended my first funeral. My nephew died in a car accident. I began drawing coffins, tombstones, and hearses. It was fascinating. I relived the events of that day and described the circumstances I had heard about my cousin’s death.
I used a toy tractor as a trailer to transport the cars
four cars as a hearse, and the cars behind them as my procession wagon. There was a restaurant that sold hot dogs in a container, and the container looked like a box.
I carefully folded a scarf as an inner compartment
and placed the action figure in the box. We had a space next to the refrigerator in the kitchen that was my funeral home, and my bedroom was the burial site. My mother scolded me for going into the refrigerator to smear ketchup “blood” on my action figures when they arrived at my funeral home. I washed them and put them in the box. and I held a funeral with singing and a sermon, and then led a procession to my room, the “graveyard.”
I enjoy working in the funeral industry because it gives me the opportunity to reunite deceased loved ones with the grieving family.
